The announcement was made by SurgiCount CEO Bill Adams. Mr. Kane replaces Arnold Spangler who will remain on the Board of Directors. In his new capacity as Chairman of the Board, Mr. Kane draws on his experience as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Protalex, Inc, (OTC:PRTX), a biotechnology company developing drugs for the treatment of autoimmune disorders. A seasoned heath care executive, he began his career in sales management for Eli-Lilly and Becton Dickinson. He later served as Vice President of Aspect Medical, an anesthetics monitoring device developer - leading that company to an IPO in 2000. In addition, Mr. Kane served as Eastern Area Vice President of Pyxis Corporation, a medication and supply management solutions provider. “I’m very excited about my new role with Patient Safety Technologies and SurgiCount Medical.
