Bill Adams to Spearhead Go-To-Market Strategy as Company ships first commercial product to leading US hospital

Patient Safety Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:PST) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Bill Adams as Chairman of its wholly owned subsidiary, SurgiCount Medical, Inc.  Adams is expected to use his extensive experience in the area of the supply of surgical dressings and new product rollouts to oversee the commercial rollout of the Company’s Safety-Sponge™ product, a retained sponge incident reducing system.  The Company announced last week that it had shipped its first commercial product to a leading US hospital.

Adams possesses over 25 years of experience working with healthcare providers and distributors in marketing and selling new products, including prepackaged surgical kits.  Adams has been actively involved in the design and development of the Safety-Sponge System for several years.
